Figured things out a little

and I am back on track so to speak, now to play the field and get my work out there!
I had a busy week of being sick and getting absolutely no work done, It was terrible now I'm back to square one before I started this blog studying all the time but with no end purpose. That Is just a really bad feeling, trying to figure out where I go from here....

Another study of a study

I'm keeping on track with drawing everyday as much possible, I finished this study today of a study for the offering to Eros after Bougerueau. I focused more on understanding the smoother transitions on the female form. It's a little flat In my opinion and I consider this just another study, Im going to be switching back to charcoal, graphite get's to flat even though there Is more precision and control.

Portrait of a Karen

I did this portrait of Karen through a photograph which Is not my best work but I wanted to experiment with the use of Guache and graphite. My experiment did not work according to my plan but It Is a learning lesson. Lesson 1 do not use photographs unless you have to or have enough experience with portraits from life. Lesson 2 Guache can be messy and wet so use it wisely.

Day 3 page 3 row 1 of barge plates finished

I just finished the touch ups for some of the bargue plates from the Drawing course book I decided to not use the sight size technique on these plates and strictly go off eye hand coordination. I used the envelope technique which I've read up on from Ted Seth Jacobs and Anthony Ryder, both great artists. I was working on another project recently a portrait of a friend. I might jump back to that and finish It up, I'm experimenting with guache and watercolors at the moment...
